Everton defender Seamus Coleman says that he enjoys playing for Marco Silva and praises his tactical understanding which underpins Everton’s fine attacking displays.
Coleman told Everton’s official website “The manager wants his full-backs to get forward as much as possible. That’s something he really wants, and you can see that on the other side [of the pitch] with the season that Lucas Digne has had – he’s chipped in with a lot of goals and assists.
“He doesn’t maybe like us both going at the same time so for Lucas Digne to shoot and for me to score [against Burnley] might have been a bit of a rare occasion, but he does encourage me to get forward as much as I can.
Talking about his own performances Coleman said “I feel like I was playing well, the team was playing well and we finished the season with a lot of clean sheets. The better you play as an individual and as a team, confidence grows, so it’s been good for us and we probably didn’t want the season to end.
He concluded “Now it’s about taking belief from that into the new season.”
